Social media management for agencies

Run every client's social in one place without mixing them up: separate accounts, calendars, brand voices and sign-off rules per client, one subscription for the agency.

A month with a client, in PostRoost

The example below uses a fictional client, Fernhill Florals, to show the agency workflow.

  1. Onboard create the client, set its time zone and brand voice (“warm, seasonal, never pushy”), upload its logo, connect its Instagram, Facebook Page and Pinterest, and invite the shop owner as client owner.
  2. Plan the account manager drafts the month in a spreadsheet and uploads it with bulk upload: 16 posts, created as pending approval because the client requires sign-off.
  3. Approve the shop owner opens Approvals, approves 14 posts, and asks for changes on two with a note (“we’re closed on the 12th”).
  4. Fix the writer sees both in Actions, edits and resubmits. Approved posts are scheduled at the client’s local time.
  5. Report at month end, the post engagement report and the CSV export go into the client’s monthly report.

Frequently asked questions

10 questions

Can each client have different approvers?

Yes. Approval is switched on per client, and each client has its own owner and admins who can approve.

Do we pay per client account or per user?

Neither. You pay one subscription per agency, and plans differ by number of clients. Users and connected accounts are unlimited on Team, Standard, Professional and Enterprise.

Can clients see each other?

No. Client users only see the clients they were added to, and someone added to a single client goes straight to that client's calendar.

Which agency plan should we choose?

Standard covers 3 clients, Professional 10 and Enterprise an unlimited number, each with every Team feature for every client. All three are billed monthly and include a 14-day free trial once per agency.

How do we see what needs attention across clients?

The agency client list shows, per client, the connected accounts, posts waiting for approval and posts that need work, with a capacity meter such as "3 of 10 clients".

What roles can agency staff have?

Owners and admins manage everything in every client; editors write and submit across all clients; viewers read and comment. Client users get their own owner, admin, editor or viewer role per client.

Will clients get an e-mail when posts need approval?

Not yet. Approvers see the number of posts waiting next to Approvals in the sidebar, so agree a review rhythm with each client.

Can each client have its own logo?

Yes. Each client has its own logo and colour, and the agency can add its own logo, so everyone can see which brand they are working in.

How do we bring existing clients over?

Create each client, connect its accounts and load upcoming posts from a spreadsheet with bulk upload. There is no importer from other tools, and past analytics stay where they are.

What happens if we win more clients than our plan includes?

Adding the next client is refused with a suggestion to move up a plan; existing clients keep working. Enterprise has no client limit.
