X, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube publish their limits in their developer documentation, which each tool page links to. For LinkedIn, Facebook and Pinterest we found no current official reference, so we use the limits PostRoost's composer enforces and label them.
Do I need a PostRoost account?
No. The tools work for anyone, whichever scheduler you use.
Can I use the results in client work?
Yes. Copy the counts, rates or links into your own documents and reports.
Do the tools work without JavaScript?
The engagement rate calculator does: press Calculate and the page shows the result. The counter and UTM builder need JavaScript to update as you type.
Does PostRoost count characters the same way in the app?
Yes. The composer's per-network tabs use the same limits as the character counter and update as you type.
How does PostRoost calculate engagement rate in its analytics?
Engagements (likes and reactions, comments, shares and saves) divided by impressions. The calculator lets you divide by reach or followers too.
A limit looks wrong. What should I do?
Tell us which network and where you saw the different limit. We check the network's documentation and correct the tool.
