Frequently asked questions
10 questions
Which social networks does PostRoost publish to?
Facebook Pages, Instagram professional accounts (Business or Creator), LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest. Each network's page lists what you can publish there and which numbers come back.
Which networks and formats are not supported?
Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Google Business Profile, Snapchat and WhatsApp are not supported. Instagram Stories and YouTube Shorts-specific settings are not supported either.
Why does a network have to approve the app before my team can connect?
Each network controls what third-party tools may do through its own developer programme. Most review a developer app before people outside its test list can connect, and some features need permissions granted separately, so what is available can depend on the deployment you use.
Is there a limit on connected social accounts?
No. Every plan connects as many accounts as you need, and accounts never count toward any limit. Plans differ by the number of clients, users and features.
Can one post go to several networks at once?
Yes. Tick the accounts under Publish to, write the caption once under All networks and adjust each network's tab where it needs something different. If one network fails and the others succeed, only the failed one needs attention.
Which networks support a first comment?
Instagram, Facebook and X. PostRoost posts it straight after the main post (on X as a reply). First comments are included from the Essentials plan.
Which networks send analytics back?
Facebook Pages, Instagram professional accounts and X share post and follower numbers; LinkedIn shares them for Company Pages only. YouTube shares views, likes and comments, Pinterest impressions, clicks and saves, and TikTok numbers are not available with the current connection.
What happens when a connection expires?
PostRoost refreshes access automatically where the network allows it. If access is revoked or cannot be refreshed, affected posts appear in the Actions list and the account needs reconnecting under Accounts & settings; reconnecting the same account keeps its history.
Can I disconnect an account without losing its history?
Yes. Disconnect keeps the account, its published posts and their analytics. Only Remove on a disconnected account deletes it together with its post history.
Does every network accept the same media?
No. Instagram and TikTok need media, YouTube takes video only, Pinterest takes one image per Pin and X takes up to four images or a video. The composer and bulk upload check these rules before a post is scheduled.
