Social sets with post and credit limits vs per-client agency plans with unlimited accounts and scheduling.
How we write comparisons
We use only the other company’s own public pages, and we link to every one of them.
Each comparison shows the date we checked. Prices and plans change; check their current pages before you decide.
If we could not verify a fact on an official page, we leave it out rather than guess.
We include what the other tool does better or that PostRoost does not do at all.
We do not use third-party reviews, ratings or “best tool” lists.
Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we will check and correct it.
Frequently asked questions
10 questions
Are these comparisons neutral?
We make PostRoost, so we are not neutral. To keep them fair, we use only each company's own public pages, link to them, date every check and say where the other tool does more.
When were the comparisons last checked?
Each comparison shows the date it was reviewed, with its sources. Prices and plans change often, so check the other company's current pages before you decide.
Which tools do you compare PostRoost with?
Hootsuite, Buffer and Later today.
Why are there no ratings or review scores?
We do not use third-party reviews, ratings or "best tool" lists. They are hard to verify and rarely match a specific agency's needs.
What is the biggest difference in how the tools are priced?
Hootsuite prices per user, Buffer per connected channel and Later per social set. PostRoost prices per agency by number of clients, with unlimited accounts on every plan.
What does PostRoost not do that broader suites do?
PostRoost has no social inbox, social listening, ad management, employee advocacy, single sign-on or mobile apps. If you need those, a broader suite may suit you better.
Can I import my posts from another tool?
There is no importer. Export or copy upcoming posts into a spreadsheet and load them with bulk upload; past analytics are not imported.
Can I try PostRoost alongside my current tool?
Yes. Start on the Free plan with one client, or a 14-day trial of any paid plan. Just make sure the same post is not scheduled in both tools.
How should I compare plans across tools?
Count clients, people and connected accounts first, then check which tier includes approvals. That usually decides the price more than the headline number.
Found something out of date?
Tell us with a link to the page that changed, and we will check it and correct the comparison.
