The PostRoost composer turns one message into the right post for each network, then the scheduler publishes it at the client's local time and retries if a network has a hiccup.
On every plan, including Free (up to 10 scheduled posts waiting per client on Free).

The composer, step by step
Publish to tick the client’s accounts, grouped by network. Need another one? “+ Add a social account” connects it without losing your draft.
All networks write the caption once. Each network’s tab starts from this text.
Per-network tabs change only what one network needs. Character counts follow each network’s limit as you type, and previews show the result.
Media upload photos and videos or paste a link, drag them into order and give each image alt text.
Link and first comment add a link (written into the caption as an editable “Read more” line), and a first comment for Instagram, Facebook or X.
Finish save as draft, submit for approval, schedule for later, or post now.

What happens at publishing time
A scheduler checks for due posts every minute and claims each one once, so a post is never sent twice.
Each network gets its own version of the post. If one network fails and the others succeed, only the failed one needs attention.
Temporary errors are retried with backoff; permanent errors (for example an image the network will not accept) go to the Actions list with the network’s reason.
After publishing, PostRoost keeps a link to the live post and starts collecting its numbers.
Links, done the way each network handles them
The Link field writes a line such as “Read more: https://…” into the caption, which you can edit like any other text. Facebook and LinkedIn also show a link card when the post has no pictures. Instagram and TikTok captions never have clickable links, and PostRoost does not pretend otherwise. Tag your links with our UTM builder to see the traffic in your analytics.
Know the network rules first
Each network has its own formats and limits: Instagram and TikTok need media, YouTube takes video only, Pinterest takes one image per Pin. The integrations pages list them in full.
Frequently asked questions
10 questions
Which time zone are posts scheduled in?
Each client has its own time zone, set in the client's settings. Times you pick in the composer, the calendar and bulk upload are in that time zone.
What happens if a network rejects a post?
The scheduler retries temporary errors with increasing gaps. If the network refuses the post outright, it appears in the Actions list with the network's message so you can fix and retry it.
Can I edit a post after it is published?
No. Published and publishing posts cannot be edited or deleted in PostRoost; change them on the network itself.
Can I publish one post to several networks at once?
Yes. Tick every account the post should go to. Each network receives its own version, and if one network fails while the others succeed, only the failed one needs attention.
Can I post immediately instead of scheduling?
Yes, with Post now. If the client requires approval and you are not an approver, submit the post for approval instead; approvers can then publish or schedule it.
Can I change the time of a scheduled post?
Yes. Open the post, change its date and time and save. Posts cannot be dragged between days on the calendar.
What media can I attach?
Photos and videos, uploaded or pasted as a link, in the order you drag them into, with alt text for each image. Uploaded images are converted to JPEG and capped at 2160 pixels; videos can be up to 300 MB.
Can I add a clickable link on Instagram?
No tool can: Instagram captions never have clickable links. A link you add appears there as plain text, and the AI assistant writes "link in bio" wording for Instagram and TikTok drafts.
Will a post ever be published twice?
No. The scheduler claims each due post once before publishing, so it is not sent twice even if more than one scheduler process is running. Retries only go to the networks that failed.
What happens if a connected account's access expires?
The post fails with the network's message and appears in Actions. Reconnect the account under Accounts & settings, then retry the post. Instagram login tokens are refreshed automatically before they expire.
Moving an agency to a new scheduler is mostly about not losing anything and not posting anything twice. A step-by-step checklist from inventory to cut-over to cancelling the old tool.
Most monthly social reports are exported charts nobody opens twice. A structure for a one-page report that answers the client's question, explains the numbers and ends with decisions.
